For more than 100 years, we built an unmatched legacy as NCJW/Essex. Today, Tovah’s dedicated volunteers and professional staff honor that history as we pursue our mission and shape the future.
Tovah is an inclusive, member-driven organization united by a deep commitment to service and advocacy. We work together to deliver positive impact for clients, partners and communities of all backgrounds.
Tovah began operating under its new name in May 2026.
Our thousands of members connect across generations, sharing wisdom, learning and friendship while doing good.
Our volunteers devote their time and energy to hands-on service and innovative programs designed to respond to community needs and create lasting change.
Our advocates raise their voices, engage with coalitions and take action on the issues that matter most to women, children and families.
We do so much throughout the year to advance meaningful change for women, children and families and to champion a more just and compassionate world.
